LCF can run clubs in French or Spanish, and our courses cater for different levels, with different activities for younger or less able and older or more able children.

We also have materials catered specifically for young KS1 or reception children should you wish to have a club for specific age groups.

We also provide 3 basic levels for standard primary school clubs, with our beginners, silver and gold courses in addition to many other extra materials and seasonal topics.

The activities in our structured courses are stimulating and engaging. They include storytelling, drama, crafts and many fun songs and games.

Our informal and friendly classes or clubs provide the best and safest environment for children to develop their self-esteem and self-confidence.

They rapidly acquire enough knowledge to enjoy using the language for communication and expression.

Every LCF club leader is CRB checked, insured and very importantly speaks the target language fluently.

Young learners from 3 to 11 could benefit from our fun courses in  lunchtime, after-school or even breakfast clubs (where demand is high).

In a typical lesson we might:

  • practise counting, introducing ourselves

  • act out a story

  • play fun games

  • sing a song

  • match words and pictures

practise writing in our full colour exercise books

For clubs, we charge between £4.40 and £7.10 depending on time per child per week when parents pay. We can also offer a school rate if the school would like to administer the club itself and spread the cost among the children. We also charge a membership fee once per year which comes with more great learning material.

In School teaching is charged at an hourly rate and depends on the number of sessions you would like. Contact us now, asking for a quote and we can give you a better idea. If you have a competing quote, we will match or beat it within fair parameters.

Great so far, but what is the cost?

In-School Courses for

At LCF, we have developed our courses for

both KS1 and KS2 to cater for the different age groups.

In KS1, children will learn vocabulary on a wide variety of topics and lay foundations for KS2, also learning about various celebrations in French-speaking countries, and learning in a fun and enjoyable environment, with the help of Hugo Escargot or Pepe Caracole, our resident puppet friends, who only speak in our new languages!

In KS2, LCF courses are developed on the basis of the QCA schemes of work developed for the integration of languages in primary school in 2008 and are based on children learning from Year 3 for one hour per week up until the end of year 6.

We cover all elements of the new Primary curriculum and  we aim to keep up to date with the demands of the curriculum as it progresses.

We understand that not all schools will be able to accommodate a specialist teacher all the way through KS2 so we can cater the topics we cover for shorter available time and based around your needs.

The course is complemented by our online interactive web resource, Babelzone (try here)

which has stories, songs, games, sound bytes, phonics examples and printable activities for each of the 24 possible units. We also offer colourful exercise books for each year of French or Spanish learning.

For schools that would like to pay for something for the children but not during the school day, we can run a school fun club after school or during lunchtime if that suits you better.
